This lecture is from the course Generative AI for Writers.
In this lecture, I cover a powerful method for structuring effective prompts to get the most out of AI for various writing tasks. The method, which I call SITS, stands for Structure, Identity, Task, and Style. By considering each of these four components when crafting a prompt, you can guide the AI to generate content that meets your specific needs and requirements.
I dive into the importance of specifying the desired format of the AI's output, such as bullet points or a specific number of paragraphs, as part of the Style component. While style may be less critical in some cases, I generally advise considering all four parts of the SITS method to ensure the best results. By mastering this potent method, you can unlock the full potential of AI to assist you in your writing tasks.
