Spotlight: The Truth About AI-Driven Cars: They Are Not the Enemy, We Are
If you want safer roads you may need to face some uncomfortable facts
Embracing uncomfortable truths is often necessary for learning & progress, even when they contradict our beliefs or preferences.
Such is the case with AI-driven cars, which are rapidly outpacing human drivers in safety and may hold the key to dramatically reducing road accidents & fatalities from human drivers.
Yet - another, counter-intuitive threat is also emerging – aggressive behaviour from human drivers towards these automated AI vehicles.
Studies reveal an unsettling trend – some human drivers are intentionally driving aggressively around AI cars, perhaps emboldened by the notion that these vehicles will obediently yield.
Ultimately, achieving safer roads may require confronting an uncomfortable truth: the greatest threat on the roads is not AI, it’s us.
