Human connections and communication is becoming an issue- people date online and what about offline? I can see that with some single friends, they can’t meat anyone offline,just online. Even though they go out and mingle. AI software girlfriends and boyfriends and future sex dolls can be an issue for our humanity.
My sense is, while AI girlfriends make things worse, they are not the cause of failing human relationships, which as you highlight pre-dates AI anyway with the rise of social media, dating apps etc.
Human relationships were having these issues well before AI was even here.
Therefore to blame AI girlfriends or technology for our problems seems to me like scapegoating, it's easy to blame the technology and avoid taking responsibility for our actions as humans, we have been choosing to go online, we have been choosing dating apps, text messages, social media, we have been choosing to disconnect more from real in person human relationships.
Until we are honest and take responsibility about our role in this rather than blame technology for our own poor choices, we won't get closer to solving these issues.
